HGV / LGV / PCV Training – All You Need to Know
Monex Academy provides the following HGV / LGV / PCV training courses. Refresher courses are also available with flexible options, hourly, half day or full day. This is the same for car and trailer or B+E training, no additional license required for this, but we can provide training on a flexible basis.
- B – C1 = car to vehicles between 3500kg – 7500kg
- This is the correct course if you want to drive an ambulance, horsebox, campervan
- B – C1+E = car to C1 vehicle with a trailer over 750kgs the combined maximum authorised mass (MAM) cannot exceed 12000 kg
- Some business require this so you can tow a trailer along with a larger vehicle
- B – C – car to vehicles up to 32,000kgs with a trailer up to 750kgs
- Cat C is the old class 2. These are rigid trucks with no articulation.
- B – C+E car to category C vehicles with a trailer over 750kgs MAM 44,000kgs
- Category C+E is the old Class 1 this is an articulated lorry and trailer.
- C- CE – category C to C+E
- Conversion course to upgrade your existing HGV Cat C to a C+E
- Category D (PCV)
- Allows you to carry more than 16 passengers with all types of bus without trailer
Monex Group has the following driving roles available:
- C – LGV Class 2 drivers
- C+E – LGV Class 1 drivers
- 4/4 – 4 days on, 4 days off shifts drivers
- Night shift drivers
Payment Terms
A 50% deposit is payable upon booking a training course The balance of the payment is due before your course starts.
Delivery Policy (Confirm Start Date)
When you make a booking for practical training you will be given training dates, your deposit secures these dates for you.

Refunds / Cancellation
Life happens and sometimes you may need to change / amend your booking. We will always do our best to accommodate you however if you cancel with more than 10 working days before your course is due to start you will be refunded 100% , if less than 10 working days but more than 5 working days 50%, NO REFUND if less than 5 working days.

Monex Academy does not offer funding directly, however we accept all funding from other companies. We currently work alongside various grant funding from the Welsh Government such as PLA via Coleg Gwent , ReAct, aswell as England based companies.
